What Is Stone Wool?
Stone wool is produced by melting volcanic rock into fibers. Thanks to its high density, it stands out not only for thermal insulation but also for acoustic insulation and fire resistance. It is widely preferred for roof, wall and facade applications.
What Is Glass Wool?
Glass wool is produced from glass raw material and recycled glass cullet. It has a lighter structure, which makes it easier to install, especially in applications like attic and pipework insulation.
Which One Should I Choose, and When?
- If acoustic insulation and fire resistance are priorities → Stone wool
- If lightness and easy installation are priorities → Glass wool
- For facade and exterior wall insulation → Stone wool is generally preferred
- For attic and pipework insulation → Glass wool is frequently used
